He has an extensive academic and professional career filled with achievements and has made significant contributions to advancing treatment methods for congenital deformities, fractures, and sports injuries—especially in pediatric orthopedics and joint replacement surgery. Dr. Al-Rawashdeh earned his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Granada, Spain. He then distinguished himself by becoming the first Jordanian physician to obtain the Arab Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery, ranking first among all candidates across Arab countries—an achievement reflecting his excellence from the start of his medical career. Academic Career & Subspecialties After earning the Arab Board, Dr. Al-Rawashdeh pursued advanced training in top European universities and hospitals, obtaining: Higher specialization in Orthopedic Surgery from the University of Edinburgh, UK Subspecialty training in Pediatric Orthopedics and congenital deformities from the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh Subspecialty in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee, and joint reconstruction, from Princess Margaret Rose University Hospital, Edinburgh Advanced specialization in deformity correction and limb lengthening using the Ilizarov technique Swiss AO Fellowship in fracture surgery (2006), along with advanced certifications from the AO Foundation He also served as Director of the Early Screening Program for hip dysplasia and congenital deformities at the University of Edinburgh in 1999. He played a key role in introducing and developing early ultrasound diagnostic techniques in Jordan and the region. Additionally, he served as Head of the Jordanian Pediatric Orthopedic Group and contributed significantly to training physicians and developing medical expertise in this specialized field.
