Dr. Hisham Shabani is a highly experienced and well-respected surgeon, with a wealth of expertise in a variety of surgical fields. He is a graduate of Jordan University of Science and Technology School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. After completing his surgical training at Islamic Hospital, he achieved the Jordanian Board in General and Laparoscopic Surgery. Dr. Shabani further broadened his experience in surgical oncology as a fellow at King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), with a special focus on breast and colorectal cancers. He also served as a resident in the surgical department of a busy level one trauma center in El Paso, Texas, where he deepened his knowledge of trauma and surgical critical care services. With more than 300 bariatric procedures under his belt, Dr. Shabani has built a well-respected reputation in the field of bariatric surgery. He has also completed an advanced course in bariatric surgery from Strasbourg France, which is considered a hallmark in his career. In addition, he has several publications as a co-author and is a certified instructor in the European Trauma Courses, where he continues to teach young colleagues.
